Router grouping is another way you can utilize Admiral to sort and find routers succinctly. Groups can be nested into each other similar to a folder system. Groups can then be selected to filter the router listing to routers added to those groups.
Creating, Moving, Deleting, and Navigating groups
On the router listing page there will be a “groups” button in the upper left of the listing. Clicking it will pop-over the groups menu. From here you can click “Add Group” and input a name. Once entered you will see it in the menu.
Clicking the name of the group will select that group and display any routers within it. While having a group selected, added groups will be nested into the selected group.
Clicking the folder of a group will show all groups nested within it.
To delete a group, click and hold on the group to create a draggable popup. Drag this popup to the top of the groups menu and release it on the “Remove” button. Note that deleting a group will also remove any groups nested within them. Make sure to move any wanted groups before deleting.
To move a group, click and hold on the group to create a draggable popup. Drag this popup to the desired group and release. Additionally the group can be dragged to the ‘Move to Top’ button to bring the group to the ‘root’ folder. Note that groups cannot be placed into itself or a group nested beneath it.
Adding and Removing Routers from Groups
To add a router to a group you must be within the “Routers” tab in the router listing. From there, click and hold on the image of a router to create a draggable popup. Drag this router over the group you want to add it to and release.
To remove a router from a group, once again be within the “Routers” tab of router listing. Select the group in the groups sidebar. From there, click and hold on the image of a router to create a draggable popup. Drag the router over to the ‘remove’ button in the upper left and release it.
Additional notes/tips
When you have a draggable router or group, you can hover over a group for a moment to open that grouping, allowing for easier navigation while dragging.
The groups feature is not currently enabled for mobile devices
