Setting up your routers for SNMP can help you monitor your network, and is fully compatible with RemoteWinBox. You will first be required to set up your monitoring system, as this is not included in RemoteWinBox.
SNMP when Adding a new Router to RemoteWinBox #
- Click on the “Add Router” button on your Router List page
- Fill out all required details for your router
- Enable the Additional Remote Access Port and set it to 161
- Click “Submit” at the bottom of the screen to add your router to the dashboard
- Copy and paste the config from the next page onto your router in a New Terminal
- Click on Account Security on the left menu and make sure the IP of your SNMP Poller is listed as a trusted IP
- If not, you will need to add it at the top of the page.
- You can now monitor using the remote access url – I.E. vpn4.remotewinbox.com:0 as the router’s IP
SNMP for a router already added to RemoteWinBox #
- Find your router in your Router List and click the Green Pencil icon to edit the router
- Enable the Additional Remote Access Port and set it to 161
- Save your changes by clicking “Update” at the bottom of the screen
- Click on Account Security on the left menu and make sure the IP of your SNMP Poller is listed as a trusted IP
- If not, you will need to add it at the top of the page
- You can now monitor using the remote access url – I.E. vpn4.remotewinbox.com:0 as the router’s IP
