Which routers will be displayed on the OSPF map? #
Online routers that have been previously configured with the Update OSPF button will appear in the router map.
Which routers will be selected for the OSPF update function? #
All online routers with OSPF enabled will be queries for their OSPF neighbor information.
How are OSPF neighbors determined? #
Currently, each router selected will be sent the requests for OSPF information:
/routing/ospf/interface/print
/routing/ospf/neighbor/print
The router id from this information is compared to the listing of other OSPF routers within the company to locate the appropriate router neighbor.
For router OS 6, from a Winbox console the interfaces are compared to locate the appropriate connection and neighbor information.
For router OS 7, from a Winbox console, the interfaces are in order, so index 0 for interface print should match index 0 for the neighbor print.
- What are some errors that can be visualized?
Currently, if there is a mismatch between the cost, state, or network type of neighbors this will generate a dotted line connecting the routers. The cost will be displayed on the line between the two router nodes.
